A small business website in the UK can cost anywhere from a few hundred pounds to £5,000+ depending on the number of pages, design, functionality and who builds it.
Our one-page starter website is completely free. You only need to buy your domain, which is usually around £12 per year.
If you later want a larger custom website with individual service pages, location pages, project galleries or SEO, we quote that separately before any work begins. There are no surprise charges.
How long does it take to build a website?
A simple website can be ready within a few days, while a larger custom website normally takes several weeks depending on how much content and functionality is required.
Our free one-page websites are usually live within a week of receiving your photos, business details and services.
For larger websites, we agree a launch date with you before starting.
What is the difference between a template website and a custom website?
A template website starts with an existing design that is adapted for your business. A custom website is designed and built specifically around your services, customers and goals.
Templates can be a perfectly good option for simple websites or smaller budgets. The downside is that you have less control over the design, structure and functionality.
We build our websites specifically for each business, which gives us more control over speed, mobile usability, SEO structure and how visitors are guided towards calling or enquiring.
Will my website work properly on mobile phones?
Yes. Every website we build is designed to work across mobiles, tablets and desktops.
For local service businesses, mobile is particularly important because many potential customers find you through Google while using their phone.
That means we pay close attention to things such as readable text, fast-loading images, simple navigation and making it easy to call, WhatsApp or request a quote without hunting around the page.
Does a new website include SEO?
Every website we build includes the basic technical and on-page SEO foundations.
That includes things such as page titles, headings, internal structure, mobile performance, image optimisation and making sure Google can crawl and understand the website correctly.
However, having an SEO-friendly website is not the same as doing ongoing SEO.
Ranking highly for searches such as “builder in Nottingham” or “landscaper near me” normally requires additional work over time, including content, local SEO, Google Business Profile optimisation, reviews and links from other websites.
We offer that separately for businesses that want to generate more enquiries through Google.
Can I update the website myself?
It depends on the website.
With our free starter website, you simply send us any changes you want and we make them for you.
Our larger websites can include a simple admin area that lets you upload things such as new projects, before-and-after photos and case studies yourself without touching any code.
And if you would rather not manage the website at all, you can just send changes to us.
Who owns my website and domain name?
You should always own your domain name.
We ask you to purchase the domain in your own account rather than registering it in ours. That means you remain in control of it regardless of what happens in the future.
The website we build for you is also yours. We do not use ownership of your website or domain to lock you into working with us.
Should I use a freelancer, an agency or a website builder?
There is no single right answer. It depends on your budget and what you need the website to do.
A DIY website builder is usually the cheapest option and can work well if you only need something simple.
A freelancer can be a good option if you want somebody to build it for you without paying larger agency fees.
A larger agency may make sense for complicated projects involving branding, development, marketing and several different specialists.
We sit somewhere in between. You work directly with the two people designing and building your website, rather than going through account managers or salespeople. We primarily build websites for local service and trades businesses, so the focus is less on fancy features and more on making it easy for customers to find you, trust you and enquire.
Do you only build websites in Nottingham?
No. We work with businesses throughout the UK.
Everything can be handled remotely through phone calls, email and video, so you do not need to be based near us.
