The Problem
The Challenge
Manpreet runs MH Energy Assessors out of Nottingham. Elmhurst and ECMK accredited, doing EPCs, PAS 2035 retrofit assessments and floor plans across Nottingham, Derby, Leicester and the wider Midlands. He's 5.0 on Google off the back of it.
He came to us with something most clients don't have: a design he'd already done himself. He knew how he wanted it to look and he'd got most of the way there.
What he had was a look, not a website. It fell apart on a phone, the legal pages weren't there, nothing was set up to be found on Google, and there was no route from the homepage to his phone ringing.
The phone part matters more here than in most trades. People chasing an EPC are mid-sale or up against a deadline, looking on their phone with the estate agent still on the line.
Our Approach
What We Did
We didn't redesign it. The look is his and it's a good one. Our job was turning a design into a website.
Mobile got rebuilt properly rather than shrunk down. Every page works on a phone now, and a call bar follows you down the screen, so ringing him is one tap from anywhere on the site.
Then we made it findable. Three services were sharing one page, competing with each other and winning none of it. EPCs, retrofit assessments and floor plans each got their own page aimed at what people actually type, with its own title, its own description and LocalBusiness markup.
The enquiry form asks for property type, bedrooms, postcode and which service is needed, so Manpreet can price the job off the form instead of playing phone tag first. Next to it, three steps of what happens next, with the 24 hour response written down rather than implied.
His Google reviews went onto the homepage and a testimonials page, because a 5.0 from 16 people does nothing sat on a profile nobody clicks through to. We built a blog and a recent work section for him to fill in his own words, and gave him an admin to do it from, with his Search Console numbers in the same place. Then the privacy policy and terms.

Thirteen pages, all working on a phone, each one pointed at a real search instead of everything piling onto the homepage. Three service pages going after their own thing, plus an FAQ page answering what people search for by name: how much an EPC costs, how long one lasts, how to check the register.
A landlord can find the EPC page on their phone, tap the call bar, or fill in a form that tells Manpreet everything he needs to quote. No back and forth just to work out what property it is.
The blog and the case studies are his to write. The site he designed now does the job he designed it for.
